O’Donnell then curled a delightful cross into the area which nearly reaches Lyndon Dykes but Tyrone Mings leapt to make an important headed clearance.
Jack Grealish who replaced Foden made an immediate impact by winning a corner on his first time on the ball.
The Czech Republic lead Group D on goal difference with four points, England are second also with four points, Croatia and Scotland both have one point each with Croatia ahead on goal difference.
