Facebook’s London HQ sold for £435m

Westland property company Great Portland Estates has sold Facebook’s London headquarters for £435m. The freehold of Rathbone Square. Great Portlands largest development project has been sold to Deka and real estate investment trust, West Invest Gesellschaft , a company owned by German investment group.

Rathbone Square is a 420, 000 sq ft development in the Fitzrovia district of London which  also includes retail space and 142 homes, most of which have been sold. Rival bidders included Zara, Amancio Ortega.
