Fiona Mozely among the six short-listed for The Man Booker Prize
The Man Booker prize is one of the most enduring literary prizes, which grew influence and power, among booksellers, publishers and readers alike.
Three men and three women Paul Auster, Emily Fridlund, Moshin Hamid, Fiona Mozley, George Saunders and Ali Smith are six shortlisted authors for the 2017 Man Book Prize for Fiction, according to Lola Baroness Young Chair of judges.
The youngest and the least known 29-year-old British debut novelist Fiona Mozley’s Elmet (JM Originals, John Murray) has secured a place in the final line-up, as did American first-timer Emily Fridlund.
A host of award-winning writers failed to make the grade, with former Booker winner Arundhati Roy missing out on a place, as well as Kamila Shamsie, Mike McCormack, Zadie Smith, Jon McGregor and Sebastian Barry.
