Fire fighting drones are here
A drone weighing abut 121lbs (55kg) tethered to the ground with a hose, that can wash buildings and fight fires is being developed in Latvia.
The Aerones Drone company says it can clean buildings 20 times faster than human beings and fly higher than firefighter ladders can reach.
With the advent of 5G mobile connectivity it will be able to stream high-definition videos to operators on the ground.
The Latvian heavy-duty drone manufacturer Aerones Inc. is developing drones that can put of fires. Their fire fighting drones can fly over 900 feet, which is 9 times higher than a than a fire truck’s ladder and will save lives and assist fire fighting all over the world.
On October 28, 2016, Aerones Inc together with the fire and rescue team Aizkraukle conducted experiment the world had never seen before. The Aerones drones were tested to fight possible fire accidents. Currently the drones weigh 55 kgs with a length and width of 3 m with a 145 kg lifting power they can work up to 30 minutes depending on the weather conditions. It takes 15 minutes to change batteries and a full charge can be reached in approximately 90 minutes. The drone is fitted with a water hose from a fire truck and is remotely controlled by a pilot on the ground.
