FTSE 100 hits all time high
The FTSE 100 index closed at 6949.63 – beating the previous record of 6930.20, set 15 years ago in 1999. Share prices soared in London to an all time high, bringing boost for
pension pots and savings. Back in 1999, at the peak of the tech bubble, telecoms and technology firms accounted for 23.4pc of the index. That figure has now fallen to 6.7pc.
