Earlier Great Britain go first with penalties and Helen Richardson-Walsh fails to score. Then Holland’s Willemijn Bos shooting early and Hinch deflecting wide, and later Alex Danson can’t score either. It was 0-0 after three penalties.
Germany win gold in women’s football beating Sweden 2-1 in the final
Germany have won the women’s Olympic football gold medal for the first time beating Sweden 2-1 in the final.
Dzsenifer Marozsan put Germany ahead with curling finish, before Sweden’s Linda Sembrant gifted them a second by scoring an own goal after Marozsan’s free-kick hit the post. Stina Blackstenius pulled a goal back for Sweden from KosovareAsslani’s low cross, but Germany somehow managed to held on for the win.
