Gujarat Lions scored 50 runs in 23 balls, with BB McCullum  60 and DR Smith 53 for the opening wicket and 100 runs came in 8.6 overs, they managed to post a challenging total of 172/6 in 20 overs. Delhi Daredevils lost early wickets of Samson, Karun Nair, and Q de Kock and it was up to JP Duminy 48 and CH Morris 82 to do the chasing and they were short by one run at the end. A pulsating finish. At the end of 18th over Delhi Daredevils needed only 18. But Suresh Raina opted Praveen Kumar and Dwayne Bravo, who executed their Yorkers and steal a close win. The stand of 87 between  Chris Morris 82 not out and JP Duminy 48 brought the chase close call. Chris Morris’s efforts were in vain.
