Historic Jag could go for £ 9m
Classic car 1950s Jaguar D-Type is listed for sale at auction for £9 million, sold by Ex- F1 supremo and legendary motorsport mogul Bernie Ecclestone on January 18, 2018, by Sotheby. In the 1920s as a young car dealer, he shifted the 170mph D-type for just £3,500. This sportscar one of two produced in bright red colour was shipped directly to Henlys of Manchester dealer from the Coventry production line in December 1955. The D-Type-Jag known as CKD 518 had a number of British owners including Peter Grant, the Led Zeppelin Manager.
