Hundreds of people were injured and thousands displaced by the 6.2 magnitude

Earthquake as Island of  Sulawesi hospital collapsed among other buildings killing at least 34 people. Eight people died when the five-story Mitra Manakarra Hospital in Mamuju partially collapsed as over 60 p4eple were safely evacuated from the hospital.

Syamsu Ridwan, of the local police, said “ it happened so quickly around 10 seconds and also there was a power cut in the hospital.”

The epicenter of Friday’s quake was 3.73 miles ( 6km) northeast of Majene city at a depth of 10km. The tremors were felt at !:00 local time on Friday (17:00 Thursday GMT) for about seven seconds.

Indonesia is prone to earthquakes because the Indonesian island of Sumatra killed 226, 000 people across the Indian Ocean, including more than 120, 000 in Indonesia. Indonesian ocean Tsunami of 2004 killed 170, 000 people on the Indonesian island of Sumatra after a quake of 9.1 magnitudes.
