Hurricane Patricia gaining strength and hits Mexico
Mexico’s Pacific coast is expecting one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded after the third lowest barometer reading ever recorded pressure of 880millibars at the centre of the storm and began evacuating 400,000 vulnerable residents ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Patricia. The Category five hurricane is expected to make landfall with winds of 190 mph 305kmph and will bring torrential rain and could trigger flash floods and mudslides.
Schools have been closed in Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta, Colima and Guerrero states.
Mexico had to deal with tropical storm from both Atlantic and Pacific oceans at this time of the year.
