KL Rahul played an outstanding 129 falls to second ball of day 2, Ollie Robinson’s best half volley which Rahul drives it straight to Dom Sibley at extra cover, who takes an excellent low catch, as India lose two wickets in first seven balls India 282-4. Rahane edges Anderson’s first ball of the day 2 to first slip India 282-5.
Mark Wood who was bowling round the wicket to Rishbah Pant 37, but goes back over and gets Pant cutting, and thin under edge goes through to Jos Butler, India 331-6.
Mohammed Shami, yet to score, who only faced two balls clips Moeen Ali straight to Rory Burns at mid-wicket India 336-7. India at lunch on Day 2 were 346=7 off 116 overs.
India all out for 364 with Anderson taking 5-62.
In reply England Dom Sibley playing well away from his body, lobs a simple catch to KL Rahul at mid-wicket, off the bowling of Mohamed Siraj, England 23-1.
On the next ball, Haseeb Hameed playing slightly across the ball, and was too late on it as the ball thuds into middle stump, England 24-2 after 15 overs. Siraj takes two wickets in two balls.
Rory Burns was lbw to Mohammed Sami for 49, twenty minutes before close of play. Captain Joe Root remained unbeaten on 48 and Jonny Bairstow six as England reached 119-3 trailing by 245 runs. Burns and Root added 84 for the third wicket steadying England after they lost two wickets in two balls.
India lost their last seven wickets for 88 runs .
