India had lost two T20Is played in Nagpur before this match. KL Rahul ‘s 50 runs came off 32 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Rahul and Pandey put on 50 runs in 37 balls for the fourth wicket. India’s 100 runs came only in 13.4 overs but England restricted India to 144/8 Chris Jordan took 22/3, wickets of Kohli, MS Dhoni, KL Rahul and was responsible two run outs Pandey and A Mishra.
England started their inning with Root (38) and Ben Stokes (38) and was well placed to get the required 32 runs off the last four. India broke through Ashish Nehra, Burmrah then conceded only three runs off the 18th over, as his slower ball was impossible to hit. Nehra;s final over England hit 16 runs, with Butler clearing Virat Kohli’s jump at long-on for a six which brought England’s requirement to eight from six balls, before Bumrah closed out victory by providing the kiss of death.
Jasprit Burmrah conceded only two runs and took two wickets in the final over to secure India series leveling victory in the second T20 in Nagpur.
