India successfully blasts off Rocket with Sixth communication satellite
At Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, southern India, an Indian rocket blasted off successfully with India’s sixth navigation Satellite –IRNSS-1F weighing 1425kg with a 12 year life span, on Thursday 10th March 2016.
The Polar Satellite Launch vehicle (PSLV)-SL standing 44.4m tall and weighing 320 tonnes zoomed into the evening sky at 4 pm away from earth’s gravitation pull. The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), consists of a constellation of seven satellites of which five IRNSS-1A, IRNSS-1B, IRNSS-1C, IRNSS-1D, IRNSS-1E have already been put into orbit.
After 20 minutes into the flight, the rocket was put into orbit IRNSS-1F at an altitude of 488.9km.
