England won by 9 wickets.
Another gripping series win for England. Shai Hope was the lone survivor for West Indies, but they did not perform as a team, and ultimately a better prolific side came back to inflict a comprehensive loss on them.
Hope’s resistance left England mulling how many they would be happy to chase, and they got a dream start for the day. Anderson fresh from breaking the 500-wicket barrier and having switched to bowling from the Nursery End due to his pair of warnings for running on the pitch on the second evening, struck early.
Stokes in the first innings, Anderson in the second with his career best of 7-42 wrapped the test and series win before Tea before the rain. England now has series victories over South Africa 3-1 and West Indies 2-1.
Man of the Match is Ben Stokes and West Indies Man of the Series is Shai Hope. England’s Man of the Series is James Anderson who said “ A Test here at Lord’s is always very special but this week will live with me for a long time. I didn’t think I’d play anywhere near as much as I have for England, and in such an enjoyable one to play with- in a series win- makes it very special. There wasn’t much swing today, just trying to create pressure, and we did it brilliantly and got the rewards. I work hard on my fitness, with age you get a few more injuries but not had many this summer.
