Jessica Marie Alba is an American actress, model, and businesswoman, who began her television and movie appearances at age 13 in Camp Nowhere and The Secret World of Alex Mack, co-founded the Honest company in 2012, in Santa Monica, California, whose services include $80 monthly bundle of diapers and wipes, is now valued at $1bn ( £650m). She has quickly build a personal $200m fortune.
The 34 year old who owns 20 per cent stake, in the company has been nick named by Forbes Magazine as “America’s richest self made women”. Her inspiration came in 2008 when she was married to Cash Warren and expecting their first child. The actress suffered from bad allergies, chronic asthma, and Pneumonia in her childhood which prompted to search out for natural eco friendly products even trying to make her own cleaning products out of baking soda, Vinegar and essential oils.
Jessica partnered with Christopher Gavigan, for the last seven years with the winning slogan “Healthy child Healthy world” and also teamed with web entrepreneur Brian Lee and Sean Kane with an initial investment of $6m. The company in the first year of selling products reached £10m in revenue and by 2014 surpassed $150m. Non-toxic and eco-friendly diapers gave the Honest Company it dream start as 75 per cent of its revenue came from on line e-commerce, and the majority came from its $79.95 monthly diaper bundles and wipes. The company also sells $170 vegan-leather diaper bags, $14 organic bee wax sunscreen and $13 non-toxic, luxury hypoallergenic detergent.
“If we really wanted to make difference to the world and people’s health it is billions and billions of dollars not just one” reflection on her company’s valuation of $1bn.
