He resumed on 94 and passed century in the fifth over of the day from 261 balls his slowest test ton. He fell edging leg spinner Yasir Shah to slip for 129. He helped New Zealand make 431 with BJ Watling making 73.
Pakistan were 30-1 in the 20 overs they faced losing Shan Masood for 10.
