A hat-trick by captain Harry Kane and became the tournament’s leading scorer and ably helped by john stones scoring an early header and even heading a second, Jesse Lingard adding in the 36th minute at Nizhny Novgorod.
Kane opened his scoring with a thunderous penalty after Jesse Lingard had been fouled and scored again before half-time with another penalty after he was wrestled to the ground. Kane completed his treble with a fortunate deflection from Ruben Loftus-cheek’s shot after the break before Panama pulled one back through Felipe Baloy.
England top Group G as they have fewer yellow cards than Belgium.
Panama was totally dismantled, as England secured a place in the last- 16 stage.
England had 59 per cent possession compared to Panama’s 41 per cent.
England play Belgium at Kaliningrad Stadium on Thursday to see who tops the group at 19:00 BST kick off.
