Kenneth Branagh to play Poirot
The moustachioed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot has appeared in more than 30 of the late Agatha Christie’s crime novels and now Kenneth Branagh, acclaimed British thespian is to appear as Poirot in a new film in which he will also produce and direct. There is a joke connected with Poirot. A patient says to his Doctor – “Doctor doctor I keep thinking I am a Belgian Detective on TV”. The Doctor shakes his head gently and replies, “You’re just Poironoid”!
With Branagh’s long list of acting credits we are sure he will bring a new aspect to the famous character and look forward to seeing more on the case soon. The production is Murder on The Orient Express and is US backed.
