Live streaming in facebook

 

Facebook is bringing out a new feature on its social network that allows users to stream live video.

Live streaming using mobile phones has become the new trend this year, with  Meerakat and Twitter-owned Periscope growing in popularity. Amazon paid last year $1bn for Twitch, a live streaming game site.

In its blogpost launching its service initially to few people in the US limited to iPhones said: “Live lets you show the people you care about what you’re seeing in real time – whether visiting a new place, cooking your favourite recipe or just want to share some thoughts.”

The stream will also display number of live viewers, the names of friends who are watching and real-time comments as they are written. The video will be saved to users’ timelines until they chose to delete them.
