Manchester City wins the Premier League
Manchester City have won the Premier League title with five games remaining – their victory over Tottenham on Saturday coupled with Manchester United’s defeat to West Bromwich on Sunday after West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez’s header confirms that Pep Guardiola’ side have clinched it, by 18 times consecutive winning streak of premier games, and beating the previous record of 13 consecutive games set by Chelsea. Manchester City also achieved 902 passes against Chelsea in March’s 1-0 win, was new premier League record surpassing the total set by Guardiola’s side in October 2017 against West Bromwich.
Second place Manchester United are now 16 points behind Manchester City with only five games left.
This is City’s third title in seven seasons and a fifth crown under Spanish manager in his second campaign in charge.
