Max Verstappen wins French Grand Prix
Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, crashed out of the French Grand Prix after an error handed the race to Max Verstappen who pitted for fresh tyres with a colossal 63-point championship lead. In 12 races. With 10 races to go, 25 points for a victory, a seven-point difference between first and second place, and Ferrari has a mountain to climb. Lewis Hamilton on his 300th Formula 1 start, took a second, and his Mercedes team-mate George Russell third and the final podium place after a fight with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez in the closing laps. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was fifth.
