Minas Gerais dam burst 20 feared dead
20 people are feared dead after a dam holding back waste water from the Samarco mining company Iron ore mine in south-eastern state of Minas Gerais Brazil burst on Thursday 5th November 2015 afternoon and send debris into Bento Rodgrigues about 4miles 7km away. The project controlled by BHP Billigton and Vale
River water was full of thick red mud surging down the valley of the Mariana the old colonial city. Several cars, lorries and homes were flown away and destroyed.
Rescue operation were hindered by fears of landslides, however, helicopters have taken several people to safety.
