Mother and baby rescued

 A mother and toddler had the freight of their life when their car parked next to the Amsterdam’s Schinkel River, started to roll towards the canal with the toddler inside. She tried to get the child out in time, but it plunge into the canal with both of them inside. Four onlookers jumped into the freezing water to rescue both mother and baby after smashing the rear windscreen and pull them out just before the car disappeared into the deep canal. The Emergency services rushed to the scene, said the mother and baby are said to be doing well after being taken to the local hospital. Firefighters have since retrieved the car from the canal.
