New Zealand 137-0 (16.1ov) Guptill 73* from 51 balls 8 fours and 2 sixes, Munro 58* off 47 balls, 6 fours and 1 six.

New Zealand won the toss and put Sri Lanka to bat

New Zealand won by 10 wickets.

New Zealand’s superb bowling display saw them defeat Sri Lanka and open their World Cup campaign with a 10-wicket win in Cardiff.

 

After Sri Lanka lost the toss and put in to bat, their collapse with 29.2 overs for 136 all out with Lockie Fergusomn and Matt Henry taking three wickets each. 

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karumaratne resisted scoring 52 not out.

Martin Guptill was ruthless in his 73 not out and Colin Munro 58 not out sprinted to the target in just 16.1 overs.\

Sri Lanka faces Afghanistan on Tuesday.
