Now WhatsApp Video Calling
Facebook-owned, WhatsApp, the instant messaging app on Tuesday 15th November 2016, launched its video calling feature with over billion users. The feature will be available on all platforms – Android, iOS and Windows.
WhatsApp started with messaging, Group Chat and voice calling.
When you receive the WhatsApp app update with the video calling feature you can try it out by tapping on the call icon at the top right-hand corner of a chat. The video call option triggers the video chat with that WhatsApp contact. The WhatsApp Messenger with free video calls, you can have face-to-face chats with your friends and family around the world, however, data charges may still apply and require iOS8+.
When you are using the video calling feature, you can switch between the rear and the front-facing camera of your device and also have a mute option. You can end the call by tapping on the red phone icon. WhatsApp video calls are fully encrypted to prevent unauthorised access from snoopers.
Now with video call WhatsApp has caught with other chatting apps like Facebook Messenger, Skype, Viber and Google Hangout/Duo.
WhatsApp is also introducing a two-factor authentication which will provide an extra layer of security for the messaging service to stop any identity theft.
Facebook acquire WhatsApp for $19bn in cash in February 2014. In future WhatsApp is exploring ways for users to contact businesses and banks to contact you about potentially fraudulent transactions or airline notifying travellers about flight delays
