An inflatable huge balloon floating over Oxford Circus was hung for testing ahead of the annual Lumiere light festival but has hung 60 mph winds, wobbled and almost fell on shoppers. One woman was hurt when she was hit by a cable as it became partially untethered. Transport for London, was forced to shut the Oxford Street and Regent Street junction during the evening rush hour until 10 pm and diverted buses.

The structure inspired by the world of microbiology, was created by artist Miguel Chevalier and it took until 9pm to deflate the balloon after failed efforts to stabilise it.
