Oxford beat Cambridge in the Boat Race
Oxford beat Cambridge by just over a length in the 163rd Boat Race, with a finishing time of 16 minutes and 59 seconds. They won four times in five years.
The Dark Blues, who included brothers Oliver and James Cook in their crew, were able to use their power to stay ahead of Cambridge’s higher stroke rate.
Cambridge took advantage of dreadful start by Oxford, and to claim the first win in Women’s boat Race since 2012, by 11 lengths in a course record of 18 minutes and 33 seconds.
