PINK REGAINING STATUS AS COLOUR OF POWERFUL WOMEN
In the past few years pink has been in and out of the fashion agenda, and this encompasses being a colour sometimes though not always, adopted by people who want to portray their sexuality through sporting the colour on clothing apparel or simply wanting to wear it to show controversial attitudes but now – at last – it is back in the corner of women, and being worn by powerful business ladies who want to show their femininity as well as strength by choosing clothes and accessories which shout “pink” at people. In actual fact, the colour pink or indeed reddish-pink is a vibrant and stimulating shade which makes people feel upbeat and positive, whomsoever it is worn by. Miley Cyrus – former Disney star and now singer says “Pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attiude”. Marks and Spencer creative director, Belinda Earl states, “pink can create a powerful daytime or evening look”. She continues to point out that it can be used in clothes which remain feminine without being girlie. However some women definitely enjoy sporting pink dresses in shocking shades to shout their femininity at “viewers”.
