Princess Charlotte’s christening
The nine week old Princess Charlotte is christened at a service in Sandringham attended by just 21 guests including the Queen and Prince Philip, Charles and Camilla, the Middletons, and the five godparents, four of whom were accompanied by their spouses.
The Duchess of Cambridge pushed Princess Charlotte in a vintage Millson pram, which the Queen used for two of her own children.
The fourth in line to the throne was christened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, supported by Reverend Canon Jonathan Riviere. She was baptised by using the silver gilt font which is usually on show as part of the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London.
Prince William let go of Prince George’ s hand as they walked to the churchyard. Prince Harry missed the ceremony as he is currently on a three month charity trip to Namibia. The Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Queen’s estate in Sandringham is where Princes Diana was also christened.
