Rare deer-like animal rediscovered in Vietnam
The Species Tragulus Versicolor was first described in 1910 based on several animals found near Nha Trange, about 280 miles north-east of Ho Chi Minh City.
An Nguyen, a Vietnamese biologist who works with Global Wildlife Conservation and is a PhD student at the Leibnitze Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, has been wondering for years whether the silver backed Chevrotain might still be holding on somewhere. Nguyen said “ I was overjoyed to find in the camera traps photographs of chevrotain with silver Flanks”.
