Remembrance Sunday occasion attended by thousands
Remembrance Sunday where the main occasion took place in Whitehall London went without a hitch Crowds were waiting in the Mall to watch the subsequent procession. There were 14 different representatives – religious leaders in attendance and the Prime Minister David Cameron stood with former prime ministers and the opposition namely David Corbyn and many of them laid wreaths at the Senotaph. Bishop of London The Right REverend and Rt Honorable Richard Chartres read a moving prayer including the words, “The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord made his face to shine on you”. The Lord’s prayer was also recited. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands was present in remembrance of The Netherlands’ 70th year of liberation. The illustration of solidiers in kilts comes from Glasgow – another city where Remembrance Sunday is featured every year.
