Rio: Carnival 2017
Rio De Janeiro’s Worlds most iconic Carnival celebration, with over 500 parties taking place across the city before and after Carnival weekend (February 24th -27), folia will bring Rio to a stand still. Hundreds of Blocos has hit Rio de Janeiro’s street over this weekend sixty on Saturday 18th February 2017 and Forty-six on Sunday. The blocos, has swept through the Zona Sul ( South Zone), Centro and Zona Norte (north Zone), with “Ih, E Carnaval!” in Santa Teresa, E Pequeno, mas vai Crescer” and “moha o Pe das Oito” in Centro. The Rio Carnival, one of the biggest in the world, with over 2 million people attending, displaying bright, extravagant costumes and samba dancing coupled with rhythmic music and finish on Ash Wednesday, 1st March 2017, which is when Lent begins. The annual Samba Parade features several samba schools who compete to win a prestigious championship. Rio de Janeiro Carnival is an event which brings all of Brazil together, with street parties, feasts that celebrate many of Brazil’s biggest traditions..
