Rio: Carnival 2017

Rio De Janeiro’s Worlds most iconic Carnival celebration, with over 500 parties taking place across the city before and after Carnival weekend (February 24^th -27), folia will bring Rio to a stand still. Hundreds of Blocos has hit Rio de Janeiro’s street over this weekend sixty on Saturday 18^th February 2017 and Forty-six on Sunday. The blocos, has swept through the Zona Sul ( South Zone), Centro and Zona Norte (north Zone), with “Ih, E Carnaval!” in Santa Teresa, E Pequeno, mas vai Crescer” and “moha o Pe das Oito” in Centro. The Rio Carnival, one of the biggest in the world, with over 2 million people attending, displaying bright, extravagant costumes and samba dancing coupled with rhythmic music and finish on Ash Wednesday, 1^st March 2017, which is when Lent begins. The annual Samba Parade features several samba schools who compete to win a prestigious championship.
