Ronaldo and Nani knocks out Wales

 Portugal                 beat Wales   2-0

 Ronaldo 50’, Nani 53’

Portugal beat Wales 2-0 in the semi-final in Lyon and will face either France or Germany in the Stade de France Final on Sunday. Wales resisted for 50 mintures and Cristiano Ronaldo’s host proved a magnificent header and his shot was redirected inby former Manchester United team-mate Nani three minutes later.

Portugal manager Fernando Santos said “ Two teams face off tomorrow, I’ll try to analyse our opponent, like I said, we’re in it to win it.”

 

Wales Manager Chris Coleman said “ The first goal was going to be crucial. The first half, it was a tight match, not much in it. We never really got into our rhythm with the ball, but we have to give credit to Portugal. But we lost our concentration for five minutes and when you are up against quality in a semi-final, you’re going to get punished. We’ve doe plenty of winning. It was our tuen tonight to lose. It’s not nice feeling, but congratulations to them, I hope they go and win it.”

 

Two former Manchester United players ended Wales run at Euro 2016 by scoring two goals in two minutes. Ronaldo opened the scoring with a towering header before his sliced shot from 25 yards was deflected home by Nani .

 

 

Gareth Bale twice tested Patricio from distance as Wales searched in vain for a route back into the match.
