In the first ODI England are well ahead of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern requirement when rain returned in the evening to curtain England’s chase.
Excellent and timely half-centuries from Jason Roy and Joe Root ensured that England would cake walk a target of 261 –reveised down to 252 after an initial delay and eventually pegged at a DLS par score of 149 and took a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
Earlier Pakistan’s Azhar Ali’s return to form looked as if they looked to build a solid total of 260. Mark Wood’s bowling effort ensured Pakistan never looked getting away.
