Second largest diamond found costing £40million

On 16th November 2015, in the Lehtlhakane, south lobe of Canadian company Lucara Diamond Karowe mine, 310miles (500km) north of Gaborone in Bostwana, diamond mines, Karowe AK6, a colourless white, type II a diamond, weighing 1,111 carats and measures 65 by 56 by 40mm, the second-largest gem-quality diamond ever found after the Cullinan Diamond which was discovered in 1905 in South Africa which weighed 3, 016 carats.

The Karowe AK6 was mined using Large Diamond Recovery (“LDR”) XRT machines. The stone could be sold for £40 million ,$60 million.
