This documentary story about the creation of the song “Silent Night” opens on December 24, 1818.  The song that was being created was ultimately translated into around 140 languages and was the third best selling melody when Bing Crosby covered it. Franz Gruber was its chief creator.

Amongst the film’s stars are  Ronaldo Villazon, Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone, and David Foster.  There is enchanting coverage of various artists presenting their versions of the memorable Christmas song in a variety of locations.

Written and directed by Hannes Michael Schaller who co-wrote it with Alistair Audsley, other names on the crew are John Rhys-Davies, John Debney, Josh Groben, and Gavin Rossdale.
