Sorrell to acquire digital ads group MediaMonks
Martin Sorrell is acquiring MediaMonks, a Netherlands-based digital production company, his first acquisition since leaving WPP and starting his own advertising venture.
Sir Martin resigned from WPP after 33 years, which he turned into the world’s largest advertising group, after an investigation into his conduct last spring. He launched his own company S4 Capital, six weeks ago with the backing of investors like Jacob Rothschild, the Chairman of RIT Capital Partners.
MediaMonks founded by Wesley ter Haar and Victor Knaap in 2001, whose clients include Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Lego, is based in Hilversum near Amsterdam with 11 branch offices including London, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo employing 750 staff.
Sorrell has raised around £100m for new marketing venture S4 Capital.
