Sperm Whale dies off Norfolk beach
A 46 feet long sperm whale stranded on Haunstanton, Norfolk beach has died at 8.00pm on February 4th 2016, despite efforts to save it, according to The British Divers Marine Life Rescue ( BDMLR). Organ failure was a major risk as its weight, supported by the sea can damage its inside.
Rob Deavile a Marine scientist from the Cetacean strandings Investigation Programme, said the whale died fairly quickly as there was little chance of saving it and will be doing a post-mortem on the whale later. It is the 29th sperm whale to have died this year after becoming stranded on the beaches of northern Europe and east coast of England.
According to a male conservationists, it is possible all the male whales which live off the west coast of Norway, could have taken a wrong turn into the North Sea while heading south to find females.
