Joe Roots 63 off 75, 9 fours and 1 six and Moeen Ali’s 59 off 78 balls, 11 fours, gave England the edge and lead of 145 in the first inning. But Steve Finn;s haul for 45-5 took England to the brink of victory just 23 runs ahead and only 3 wickets standing over Australia despite a Swashbuckling 77 off 62 balls from David Warner . Finn’s first over went for 14, but Cook cleverly switched him from City End to Pavillion End which paid big dividends.
