Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field. Fifties by Stoinis and Saha, ensured Kings XI Punjab posted 181 for 5. Delhi Daredevils began their chase with the help pf 53 from De Kock and Samson 49 and were cruising when they needed 54 runs from 36 balls. They were undone by an excellent display of end-overs bowling by Marc Stoinis, Sandeep Sharma and Mohit Sharma as Kings XI Punjab won by 3-run. Kings XI bowlers overcame the effects of dew to defend 181 for 5, as they put on the pressure to force big hits which resulted in far too many mistakes as Delhi Daredevils were kept to 172 for 5.  Kings XI Punjab conceded only 44 runs in the last 6 overs, by scoring only 2 fours and 2 sixes and scored 75 runs in that phase, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.
