Sugar debate – Jamie Oliver lets his kids eat “Sweets”
Bestselling chef and author of tens of cookbooks, father of four Jamie Oliver has admitted that though he isagainst the random intake of sugar – which is a good notion – he does give his kids money to spend on sweets every so often. Though he wants a sugar tax, he does give his little ones 50p each a week to spend on sweeties. “Technically I’m not allowed to give them sweets until after lunch, their mum says, but sometimes, one slips up by mistake”.
He advocates to the public that sugar should be taken in moderation but says he doesn’t want to be a “Nazi” about it.
We all know how successful Oliver is with his cooking. Lots of us in the public know how to cook though we do enjoy his and others’ programmes and advice, and we all know that too much sugar is bad for us. That can come in fruitjuice, chocolate, milkshakes from high street fast food stores and several other sources. A good way to look at sugar overdosing is to examine your breakfast cereals. One of the Sunday Times supplements today has a magic mix up of foodstuffs invented by Oliver to make breakfast more interesting and less sugar full. Use your brains and make up your own best ways to monitor and supervise sugar intake for you, your friends, and your family, not to forget weighing scales and fitness regimes. Cheers.
