David Warner jumps into the hands of coach Moody as Sunrisers are the 2016 IPL champions. Sunrisers won the toss and opted to bat. David Warner said “We feel our strength is bowling and their strength is chasing”.
David Warner’s 38 ball 69 and Ben Cutting’s unbeaten 15-ball 39, helped them post 208 for 7, which proved too much for Royal Challengers. Chris Gayle 76 off 38, four fours, eight sixes, and Virat Kohli 54 off 35, 5 fours and 2 sixes, accounted for 114 in 10.3 overs to propel the chase. Sunriser’s applied the brakes and choked RCB chase after Gayle’s wicket to pip the hosts to win by eight runs and clinch their maiden IPL title at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Virat Kohli scored most runs 973 his best 113 followed by David Warner 848, his best 93 not out, AB de Villiers 687, 129 not out. In IPl 2016, T20 , 17, 963 runs were scored, 10, 356 runs were scored in boundaries, 638 sixes, 1632 fours, 110 fifties, 414 catches and 652 wickets were taken, B Kumar of Sunrisers took 23 wickets giving away 490 runs.
