How three Indian mathematicians gave the world Algebra
One thousand five hundred years ago three Indian mathematicians developed Algebra to give meaning to the meaningless. Bhaskara, originated the radical signs, Brahmagupta created the symbols and Aryabhata, worked out the first equations. As original thinkers, they expanded man’s horizon in his unending search for knowledge. Now a new search is on today in new directions with new tools, among them, a machine that helps man in more ways than any other invention in history: the computer. IBM introduced the manufacturing of computers and other data processing equipment, which are helping several nations around the world to meet the challenges of building a new tomorrow.
