Tiger kills 15-year-old girl in India
On Sunday a tribal girl Pasula Nirmala, was in a field in Mannewada hamlet when a tiger fatally attacked her in Kondapalli in Kumaran Bheem Asifabad district, just three days after the big cat was sighted near {eddavagu in Penchikalpet Mandal in the district. The girl’s two brothers had gone to fetch water from a nearby stream when they were alerted by screams of help. When boys started shouting the tiger dragged Nirmala’s body about 15 meters inside the forest before vanishing into the forest area in Bejjur range in Telangana south-east India.
Wild animals have killed at least 67 people and injured over 940 during the past five years in Indian controlled Kashmir Valley, due to habitat loss from deforestation. Over 85 per cent of attacks emerged from black forest bears.
