Valentine’s Day proposal

The running green men and the red traffic light men in Southern Taiwan got girlfriends thanks to Valentine’s Day.

The first 40 pedestrian signs featuring a new couple design has been installed at an official ceremony in southern Pingtung County.

The red traffic light now features animated red man kneeling down to propose to his girlfriend and the green man holding his girlfriend’s hand and crossing the road.

Pen Men – Pingtung county’s mayor said: “ the new traffic design emphasise Pingtung is a county filled with love”.

Cheng Da-Wei, the designer said: “the new theme would attract attention and encourage young people to have better transport safety awareness”.
