Vodafone – another set of customers being hacked
Up to 2,000 Vodafone customers have had their details hacked by fraudsters who paid people on a “dark web” to supply their details including bank account details and passwords last week on Wednesday and Thursday. The National Crime agency – NCA is investigating – who are Britain’s equivalent of the FBI.
Vodafone has over 18M customers in the UK. They have been advised to look out for fake emails run by “phishing” operatives who try and hack people’s private details.
Of course there has also been publicity about the hacking of Talk Talk customers which grabbed the news headlines in the UK last week. Some people have already been arrested over that incident.
Teenagers who have been targeted by police in these hackings say there are a “heck of a lot of people involved” in these fraudulent attacks.
