Volvo first with an app for keyless cars
Volvo, Swedish Auto manufacturer has started testing a smartphone app that would replace physically keys making it the first car to offer vehicles without keys.
The app would feature Bluetooth enabled digital key technology and even offer drivers the ability to receive multiple digital key on the app which would allow access to different Volvo vehicles in various locations. The app can also book and pay for a car rental anywhere across the globe and deliver digital key right to your phone.
According to Henrick Green vice-president, product strategy and vehicle line management “New technology has to make our customers’ lives easier and save them time.” The company hope launch this technology as standard by 2017.
