Australia won by 59 runs
A lacklustre England batting display handed Australia 59-run victory at Southampton in the first game of the five-match one-day series.
Adil Rashid’s 4-59 proved in vain although it reduced Aussies to 193-6. Matthew Wade’s 71 not out added 112 with Mitchell Marsh (40 not out) aided tourists to post 305-6. Jason Roy 67 led England reply with Taylor (49) and captain Eion Morgan (38), but collapsed when they fell. England lost three wickets in four balls at one stage and their last seven wickets fell for 94 runs before being bowled out with 27 balls to spare.
Taylor , Jos butler replaced Jor Root, and Jonny Bairstow respectively. Sam Billings and David Wiley were omitted in favour of Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes.
