Zscaler cyber security firm lifts. Jay Chaudhry to billionaire
Jay Chaudhry, who in the past lived in a Himalayan village, without even clean running water, has become a billionaire after his US-based information security firm Zscaler is valued at £2.58bn ($3.4bn). With the advent of cloud-based computing, several companies are tethering more and more for their business to online networks.
Chaudhry is now part of a new wave of billionaires who have built cyber-security businesses.
Chaudhry (60) and his family now benefit from stakes in the San Jose- based firm along with six others.
Indian born Chaudhry founded in 2008, raised funds from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Google Capital and others, and went public last year.
“I do look sometimes back and say , ‘Whoa,’ Chaudhry said.
