Thrissur Pooram revellers at the Sree Vadakkunnathan Temple on Sunday cheered elephants of both Thrivambady and Paramekkavu sides stood face-to-face, with men on top unfurling colourful decorative parasols on a two-hour-long parade from southern entrance to the western entrance. 

A team of elephants, with their mahouts, was ready for the grand finale in the evening.
The temple authorities have received permissions for fireworks unlike the disaster hit Puttingal temple, which claimed 200 lives, with a reminder from High Court that the noise level must be curtailed to no more than 125 decibels.
